A new study published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology found long-term smokers with mild to moderate COPD had raised nasal IL-26 levels, which were correlated to symptom/health impairment assessments. Seyedmohammad Pourshahid, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Clinical Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided commentary on the findings to Healio Pulmonology.
