Kamel Khalili, PhD, Laura H. Carnell Professor and Chair of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Inflammation at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided perspective for a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article about a new study on HIV led by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh. The study, published in the journal Cell Chemical Biology and funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, involves targeting a key HIV protein called Nef. Dr. Khalili was not involved in the study.
