Jessica H. Beard, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, led a research team that defined the features of neighborhood mass shootings in Philadelphia using police department data, then examined media coverage of the shooting incidents. Their research was published in the journal Preventive Medicine and has received coverage from PhillyVoice, KYW Newsradio, WURD Radio, Scienmag, CNBNews, and additional outlets.
